Planning and Design
Businesses are not static and neither should their technology be. Show me a business that has not planned for and updated their technology and I will show you a business that is not growing at the same pace as their competitors.
Planning and design is more than just delivering a quote for a hardware and installation. Planning and design involves really listening to the business needs, goals, and unique selling points to understand how technology either helps or hurts the business met those objectives. These discussions should focus more on the outcome instead of the bits and bytes of the technology components.
This is once again a process and one that should be repeatable to consistent give the organization results that impact the bottom line. A full technology strategy should be developed out of this and as a result a multi-year budget should be a byproduct of the process.
